KATHMANDU: The dresses have been fitted, the sparkly gowns have been dry-cleaned, and accessories have been carefully selected. And the curtains will be raised at the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu on March 30 for the biggest fashion show in town — the Blenders Pride -TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2016. At the four-day fashion extravaganza that will end on April 2, the finest models will shine, donned in the astonishing creations of some professional designers and fresh new collections of upcoming designers of the Nepali fashion industry. But before that, the selected 20 models — national and international — practised for the big event by going through a final dress rehearsal. On March 24, 25 and 28, the models tried the gorgeous outfits created by the fashion designers at IEC School of Fashion, Baghbaazar. Shobha Acharya, the academic coordinator of IEC School of Fashion shared, “This year the audience can expect innovative, unsullied and fresh designs from the upcoming new designers.” The models also tried the creations of professional designers including the works of designer Rasna Shrestha (Mu Ce). Expressing her excitement for the show, Shrestha stated, “First of all I was happy to see all the tall and beautiful models and even happier when my dresses looked flawless in their beautiful bodies. I expect all the models will carry themselves confidently and will blend their style and attitude according to the designs.” One such model who tried beautiful designs was Nikita Sachdev. The international model shared that she was very impressed by all the dresses she tried on during the rehearsal. “The designers have perfectly infused western and eastern elements together,” she said. At the show each model will be wearing five outfits of different designers per day.
