KATHMANDU: Nepal Police arrested a man for his alleged involvement in hashish smuggling to the Netherlands. The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Tul Bahadur Tamang aka Srijan of Nuwakot. A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Teku, arrested Tamang and seized 3.5 kg of hashish meticulously stuffed in woollen dolls meant for delivery to a Dutch national. Police swung into action after receiving a tip-off about the consignment through Arin Enterprises. Police in their investigation found that Tamang had made contact with a Dutch national, Peter Gruber, via Arin Enterprises on March 17. Gruber had handed over some woollen dolls to Tamang, asking him to stuff the contraband into them and deliver them to him in the Netherlands. Police said, earlier this year, he was also involved with another Dutch national, identified as Jensi, in the illegal trade of drugs. Police said he has been sent to Lainchaur Police Beat for further investigation.
