Over 9 tonnes of garbage collected from Bagmati

KATHMANDU: The Bagmati Clean-up Campaign has celebrated its 151st week today. On the occasion, the volunteers collected over 9 tonnes of waste from the River and its banks at Minbhawan area. The Clean-up campaign campaigner and former chief secretary Leela Mani Poudyal, secretary at the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation Suresh Prakash Acharya, Executive Director at the High Powered Committee for Development of Bagmati Civilisation and large number of volunteers were found participated in today's campaign. Every Saturday morning, volunteers have been volunteering to the campaign which has received support of various organisations as well.
