Leopard skin smugglers busted

SALYAN: Police on Saturday busted four persons involved in smuggling of leopard skin in Salyan district. The suspects have been identified as Rana Bahadur Kawar (28) of Mahadevpuri-5, Dhakeri, Bhuwan Yogi (35) of Bagchaur Municipality-8 in Kotmaula, Belaram Giri (44) of Bagchaur Municipality-9 in Patihalna and Bhesh Kumari Chand (33) of Damchaur-1 in Palate, Banke district. The Salyan District Police Office confirmed that the smugglers were nabbed while they were negotiating the price of leopard skin at around Rs 1.5 million. The Regional Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police arrested the smugglers with leopard skin hidden in bags, said Salyan DSP Shyam Kumar Khatri. Preparation is underway to hand over the smugglers with leopard skin to the District Forest Office for further investigation, DSP Katri said.
