Kathmandu, April 6 Sher Bahadur KC, a contestant from the democratic panel, is leading the race for Nepal Bar Association’s presidency with 1,165 votes. His rival Bijay Kanta Mainali from the progressive panel is trailing behind with 1,048 votes as per the election tally announced at 8:00 pm today. Similarly, democratic panel’s candidate for the post of general secretary Khamma Bahadur Khati is leading the race with 1,070 votes. His nearest rival Dinmani Pokharel from the progressive panel is trailing behind with 1048 votes, according NBA election committee chair Hari Shankar Niraula. Democratic panel’s candidate for treasurer Gyan Ratna Shakya is leading the race with 1,076 votes against his nearest rival Hari Bahadur Khadka’s 1013 votes. Khadka is from the progressive panel. A total of 2,312 votes have already been counted till 8:00 pm. Niraula said the counting will resume tomorrow morning and the final results would probably be announced by tomorrow evening. Seventy one candidates are vying for 25 posts of NBA executive committee.
