POKHARA: With bike ride, open road adventure, New Year celebration, music, awards and more — the 8th Enfield Rendezvous & Poker Run 2016 concluded on April 14 in Pokhara. The adventurous event that saw 280 people riding on 240 Royal Enfield bikes from Kathmandu to Pokhara had begun on April 12. “As a part of the rendezvous, they (participants) had set off from Tundikhel of Kathmandu on April 12. They arrived at the Fulbari Resort here on the same day to welcome the New Year 2073,” Sabin Nakarmi, the event manager shared, adding “The riders treated themselves with delicious foods and had fun on the way.” Upon arriving in Pokhara, the bikers further treated themselves with barbecue, and dinner and enjoyed a live musical performance. They celebrated the Nepali New Year on April 13 by touring famous landmarks of Pokhara, and participating in adventurous journey. A prize distribution ceremony was held at the Fulbari Resort on the same day. The winners of different categories were awarded in the ceremony. Saurav Shreevastav bagged the title of Open Road Wanderer while Zero Engineering Club became the Best Bike-Modified. Best Bike-Original award went to Royal Enfield Makawanpur. Bikrant Singh won in the category of Longest Distance Rider, UK’s Adele Rennington became Best Female Rider while Ashok Naidu from India became the winner of senior citizen category. The whole adventure concluded formally on April 14. Then the participants returned to their own destinations. The Himalayan Times was the exclusive media partner of the event.
