Concrete blocks crush one to death in Chitwan

CHITWAN: A man died after being crushed by concrete blocks in Chitwan on Wednesday. According to Chitwan District Police Office, Ram Krishna Rai, a permanent resident of Hetaunda Sub-Metropolitan City-22 in neighbouring Makawanpur district, was seriously injured after falling along with the blocks while constructing his father-in-law's house in Piple in the district. Rai, who was rushed to a hospital for treatment, had succumbed to his injuries on the way, police added. Meanwhile, a youth was reported missing from Narayani River while swimming at around 5:30 pm this afternoon. Police identified the missing youth as Sunil Sunuwar (18), a permanent resident of Harthok in Palpa, currently residing in Narayanghat of Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City. He was currently working at Gulmeli Jewellers in Narayanghat. Locals, police personnel and relatives were involved in the search operation, added Chitwan District Police Office.
