Wildfires kill seven deer in Nawalparasi

NAWALPARASI: Wildfires in different parts of Nawalparasi in this dry season has so far claimed seven deer including the spotted ones. Fires spread in the forests in the district have killed seven deer in two months, the District Forests Office, Nawalparasi said. It may be noted that about 40 hectares of forest area has already been burned down by the fire since the starting of this summer. Young plants and herbs of significant value were destroyed in the bush fire, according to Assistant Forests Officer Pramod Bhattarai. The district has 122,365 hectares of forest.
