Preparations over for Grade XI, XII examinations

BHAKTAPUR: The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), Sanothimi, has completed all necessary preparations for conducting Grade 11 and 12 examinations. The Grade 12 examinations will start on May 2 while Grade 11 exams will start on May 15. At a press conference held on Friday, HSEB Examination Controller, Santosh Aryal, said that 346,427 students are taking exams in Grade 12 and 369,426 students in Grade 11. Of the total number, Manang district has the least number of students appearing for the exams with 200 students while Kathmandu is expected to see the highest turnout with 114,322 students. A total of 921 examinations' centres have been designated across the country, Aryal informed. HSEB Vice Chairman, Dr Chaitanya Sharma, said that 31 monitoring teams will be formed to carryout inspections during the exams. Sharma added that the teams will not only inspect the exams, but also the general situation of the schools hosting the exams. The exams will take place from 7 am to 10 am, Sharma said, adding that arrangements were put in place for facilitating the differently-abled students as well as those in prison and child rehabilitation centres to appear in the exams.
