Man held for killing fellow worker over wage dispute

KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday apprehended a man for his alleged involvement in murdering his colleague. The suspect has been identified as Krishna Bahadur BK (46) of Bhorle-3, Rasuwa district. An unidentified man was found dead on the bank of Pyutar Kamare River in Tarkeshwor Municipality-9 on April 22. Police, however, suspected that the victim might be Shyam Bahadur Magar in his late 40s, from Chhepetar of Gorkha district. He was found dead with his head covered with a sack. Deep cuts were noticed on his neck and eye. Preliminary investigation revealed that BK had met Magar at Machhapokhari Chok of Kathmandu on April 14. Later, Magar told BK that he came to Kathmandu in search of a job and asked a job with BK. BK then decided to hire Magar for Rs 1,200 per day as a construction worker. Though BK had assured to give Rs 1,200 per day to Magar, their contractor paid him Rs 1,100 only. After receving wages of six days, Magar and BK drank together at the latter's room. Magar then walked out of the room expressing dissatisfaction over the payment. Later, BK along with three persons followed and him, police said. Police said that BK, his cousin and the contractor had killed Magar. Police said that they are searching for other two suspects.
