Bicyclist killed in Itahari hit and run in Itahari

BHOJPUR: A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Itahari of Sunsari district on Thursday. Two persons were injured after a scooter they were riding on met with an accident in Chimdi of the district on Thursday. According to police, 43-year-old Dol Bahadur Katawal was critically injured after an unidentified hit his bicycle at Birendra Chok of Itahari. He succumbed to injuries during the course of treatment at local Community Hospital. The victim was heading towards home on his bicycle when he was fatally hit by the vehicle which fled the site after the incident. Police said that they have impounded two trucks bearing Indian licence plates for investigation. Meanwhile, rider Shashikanta Chaudhary (27) and pillion rider Sanjeeb Chaudhary of Chimdi-3 were injured after the former lost control of the two-wheeler they were riding on. Both of them are admitted to the Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar, police informed.
