KATHMANDU: Federal Alliance, the alliance of 30 parties including constituents of the United Democratic Madhesi Front, has picketed Singha Durbar on Sunday. The protesters vandalised a government vehicle at Maitighar. The Alliance had announced protest to exert pressure on the government to address their demands that include provisions for proportional representation and rewriting of the recently promulgated constitution. The Alliance on Saturday took out a rally in Kathmandu on the eve of launch of the Capital-centric agitation against the ‘discriminatory provisions of the new constitution’. The Alliance announced their fresh agitation, two days after the government sent formal invite for the talks. The government on Monday had written to the agitating parties, inviting them to the negotiating table. The Alliance, however, said that the protest programmes would continue until their demands were met.
