KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested a man on charge of snatching a gold chain from the neck of an elderly woman. The suspect has been identified as Lal Bahadur Mahara (30) of Melamchi Municipality-13 of Sindhupalchok district. Police said that Mahara had snatched the gold chain of Dipa Kumari Chaulagain (60) of Bhotechaur-1 at Kattike of Sindhupalchok on Wednesday on the pretext of giving her a lift. Following the incident, locals took Mahara under control and informed the Metropolitan Police Circle, Sankhu. Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
