KATHMANDU: A member of the Indian expedition team died on Mt Everest on Sunday night, while another who suffered altitude sickness has been brought down to the Camp II. Wangchu Sherpa, the managing director at Trekking Camp Nepal, said Subash Pal lost his life while being rescued to lower camps from near the summit point. Pal passed away in the region between Camp IV and Camp III. Rescuers are bringing Sunita Hazra to the base camp, he said from the Mt Everest region. Earlier it was reported that she was rescued to the base camp. She is said to be out of danger. Four Indian climbers from West Bengal, including Pal, Hazra, Paresh Chandra Nath and Goutam Ghosh, had gone missing on the world's highest peak on Saturday. Climbing Sherpas spotted Pal and Hazra, while whereabouts of two others are still unknown. There is little hope of their survival, according to Sherpa. With the death of Pal, the casualty on the Mt Everest in this climbing season has reached three.
