Two women held for human trafficking from Koteshwor

KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested two women for their alleged involvement in a human trafficking case, from Koteshwor of Kathmandu. Bina Tamang (31), a permanent resident of Beltar-7 of Udayapur district and Bal Kumar Bishwokarma (25) from Purandaha-9 of Udayapur district, were arrested from a microbus (Ba 1 Ja 3121), which was all set to head toward Kakadbhitta of Jhapa. They were currently residing in Balaju Machhapokhari area in the Capital. Police said the duo were trafficking four women to Kuwait via India assuring them of some jobs in the Gulf nation. The four women, who police claimed were being trafficked, were rescued. Acting on a tip-off, the Metropolitan Police Crime Division had swung into the action. Meanwhile, the MPCD handed over the suspects to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation and action.
