Kathmandu, May 29 The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has asked the government to reclaim and nationalise 18 ropanis of land in Pulchowk, which it alleged was “illegally possessed” by Chairman of Sajha Yatayat and journalist Kanak Mani Dixit and his family. CIAA sources say the anti-graft body wrote a letter to this effect to the Ministry of Land Reforms and Management following its meeting today. However, Minister of Land Reform and Management Ram Kumar Subba and ministry spokesperson Nagendra Jha said they were not aware of the CIAA sending any such letter to the ministry. According to a CIAA source, the anti-graft body’s investigation found that Dixit and his family had ‘concealed’ 18 ropanis of Pulchowk-based land plots from the government. Dixit is being probed by the anti-graft body for allegedly amassing property illegally.
