DHANGADHI: A man who was allegedly involved in a human trafficking case escaped from the police custody on Tuesday. Arrestee Bir Bahadur Sunar of Chandani Municipality-8, Dodhara in Kanchanpur district fled away from the custody of the Dodhara Area Police Office. Police Inspector Birendra Bir Bishwokarma claimed that relatives of Sunar had helped him escape by creating a chaos outside the police station. Police then had followed Sunar, who fled towards India, and even fired bullets in the air, but failed to capture him. Police also informed that a case had been filed against him at the Kanchanpur District Court in 2009/10. The Court, however, is yet to pronounce a final verdict on it. Search for the absconding suspect in the neighbouring country is underway.
