Govt approves Vice-President's China visit

KATHMANDU: The government on Wednesday approved Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun's China visit. Pun is scheduled to visit the northern neighbour on June 10-16. A Cabinet meeting held this morning made the decision to that effect. The meeting transferred Gajendra Thakur, Secretary at the Ministry of Science and Technology to the Ministry of Irrigation and Anup Upadhyay, Secretary at the Ministry of Irrigation to the Ministry of Science and Technology. The meeting has also decided to send the new Money Laundering Rules to the Bills Committee of the Cabinet. The government has also decided to provide Rs 1.66 million to Sindhu Upreti, injured in people's movement of 2006, for treatment. Upreti is currently receiving treatment in Thailand, Minister for Industry Som Prasad Pandey informed.
