Pokhara, June 12 Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya and Gandaki Boarding School lifted the titles of Coca-Cola Cup Inter-school Football Tournament here on Sunday. In the boys’ section final played at the Pokhara Stadium, SAM thrashed Kalika Higher Secondary School 4-0 riding on a brace each from Sameer Karki and Pravin Chaudhary. In girls’ category, Gandaki thumped Tops Higher Secondary School 3-0. Smriti Gurung scored a brace, while Aakriti Gurung added one. With the wins, Sainik and Gandaki qualified for the regional tournament. A total of 104 schools, including 14 in girls’ section, took part in the tournament. President of Kaski District Sports Development Committee Yam Bahadur Gurung handed over the trophies to the winners. In Kathmandu, Everest Florida School, Nawa Jiwan Sishu Niketan, Halchowk Higher Secondary School and Bright Future School registered wins at the Sano Gaucharan grounds. Everest thrashed Annal Jyoti 6-0. Sjwal Sunuwar and Aryan Dev Acham scored two goal each, while Amir Kandel and Sudarshan Thapa added one apiece. Likewise, Nawa Jiwan thumped Mahendra Adarsha 3-0 riding on a brace from Niraj Rai and a goal from Kanchan Timalsina. Also, Halchowk edged past Shine Model School 3-2. Prajwal Shrestha, Som Putuwar and Parbat Magar scored for Halchowk, while Sujan Karki and Hrit Manandhar netted one each for Shine Model. In the day’s last match, Bright Future outplayed Mount Olive 3-0 on goals from Sahil Rana, Adarsha Sedai and Ruchi Pudasaini.
