KATHMANDU: The newly established Naya Shakti Nepal led by former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai is discussing three major party documents including the statute in what it called 'the discussion session' being held at the Nepal Academy of the Capital. The session opened today, a day after announcement of the party establishment, and would conclude on Tuesday. The party's coordinator Baburam Bhattarai presented a report entitled 'Bases of Naya Shakti' whereas leaders Devendra Paudel and Rameshwor Khanal presented 'Organisational Principle and Statute' and 'Outline of Development and Prosperity' respectively, party spokesperson Khimlal Devkota told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti. According to the RSS report, party cadres have been divided into 12 groups to hold deliberations. Representatives of the groups would discuss the reports and air their views today while the papers would be finalised tomorrow considering the feedback, Devkota informed. More than 1,500 party leaders and cadres have gathered in Kathmandu for the session. The representatives include those from Nepali communities living in 24 nations including India, South Korea, Australia, United Arab Emirates, United States, Malaysia, Portugal, United Kingdom and France among others. Meanwhile, it has been learned that cadres of the erstwhile Sanghiya Janamukti Party led by Parshuram Tamang had expressed dissatisfaction over representative selection. They had claimed that the selection was not proportional. Consequently, the session was disrupted for around two hours. The SJP had announced merger with the Naya Shakti on Saturday.
