KATHMANDU:  Kurash association hosted its first Junior National Kurash Championship at Marigold Health Club in Gongabu, Kathmandu on Saturday. The competition organised to celebrate Olympic Day 2016 was inaugurated by Chairman of Sports for all commission Bishnu Gopal Shrestha. The one day event included a total of 70 participants in different weight categories. Dinesh Rai, Sandesh Neupane and Sudev Thapa Magar in the weight caregory of 47 kg clinched the first, second and third title respectively. Likewise, in girls’ 25 kg category, Sarika Theng and Anita Tamang earned first and second title while Susmita Ale Magar held the third position. Executive Member of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Ramesh Kumar Shrestha, former Minister of Sport & Physical Education of Uzbekistan and Founder of Modern Kurash Komil Yusupov, who was the chief guest of the programme, jointly honoured the participants with letter of appreciation and medals.
