Blackbuck population up in Bardiya

BARDIYA: The number of endangered wild species of Nepal, blackbuck, locally known as 'Krishnasar', has increased to 257 in the Krishnasar Conservation Area, Khairapur. The flood that took place on 15 August 2015 had swept away 40 out of 281 krishnsars. Presently, there are 79 male, 127 female and 51 kids of the rare antelope in the conservation area which is stretched over the area of 1,800 hectares. The government had declared the Krishnasar Conservation Area in March 2009 to protect the endangered species. The number of the wild animal was only nine when it was declared the conservation area
