KATHMANDU: The CPN Maoist Centre on Friday decided to block three major bills related to the annual budget announcement at the Parliament unless the House voted on a no-confidence motion it filed against the government. A Central Office meeting of the party held today made the decision to this effect, according to party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal. The House is yet to endorse Financial Bill, Bill to Raise Public Debt and Loan and Guarantee Bill related to the budget of next fiscal year, which would begin tomorrow. The Parliament, however, has already passed the Appropriation Bill. Among the pending bills, the Financial Bill is considered very significant for budget implementation as it allows the government to collect taxes — the main source from which the government generates its income to finance programmes laid in the Appropriation Bill.
