DANG: The Regional Office of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) caught a government official red-handed with bribe in Dang, on Thursday. The arrestee has been identified as Ram Dulari Sharan Bhagat, an engineer at the field office of the Department of Water Induced Disaster Prevention. He was arrested from his rented apartment at Lamahi Municipality-11 for taking a bribe of Rs 160,000 today. According to the anti-graft constitutional body, Bhagat had taken the bribe in order to illegally allocate a budget to build embankments in Bhalukhola at Gobardiha VDC-8 in the district. Investigation against Bhagat has been initiated as per the law, informed information officer of the CIAA Regional Office, Chudamani Parajuli.
