The tune known as Hakpare was collected by Nepathya front man Amrit Gurung from a local traditional folk musician, Dille Damai of Chainpur, Sankhuwasabha, according to a statement issued by Nepa~laya. Gurung had travelled to eastern hills of Kavre, Sindhuli, Ramechap, Okhaldunga, Khotang, Bhojpur, Terhathum and Dhankuta district before meeting Damai, according to the statement. “With modern influence penetrating the villages, folk culture is at the verge of extinction,' the statement quoted Gurung as saying, 'But I am fortunate to still witness them in raw format, when I travel to some remote untouched settlements.”
