Private medical colleges demand annulment of deal with Dr KC

KATHMANDU: Private medical colleges have organised a demonstration in Kathmandu calling for scrapping the agreement reached with Dr Govinda KC. The private medical operators from across the country assembled at Maitighar Mandala today and held a protest rally from there up to Naya Baneshwar. They argued that the agreement that the government has reached with Dr KC would jeopardise the private medical colleges of the nation. They have demanded that the government should not take away the livelihood of employees working in the medical colleges, reduce the admission quota of students studying in medical colleges fulfilling the set criteria and neglect the domestic capital. Dr Bhola Rijal, Operator of the Nepal Medical College, Jorpati said the demonstration was organised to protest the 'interference' on the private medical colleges. Proprietors, employees and students of medical colleges from across the country including Nepal Medical College, KIST Medical College, Nepalgunj Medical College participated in the protest rally.
