KATHMANDU: The Central Child Welfare Board (CCWB) has drawn attention of the concerned authorities for protection of children in the areas affected by floods and landslides. Issuing a press statement today, the CCWB Executive Director Tarak Dhital on Thursday commended the relief and rescue operation undertaken by the Central and the District Disaster Rescue Committee, District Administration Offices and security bodies in various flood and landslide-hit areas across the country. Similarly, the Board has requested the District Child Welfare Boards in the respective areas to take stock of the quake-hit children whereas the stakeholders have been asked to cooperate and collaborate with the District Child Welfare Boards to protect these vulnerable groups. 'The daily life of public in several places has been hit hard by the water-induced disasters since July 25. We appeal to one and all to have patience and cooperate with the concerned authorities for the relief and rescue efforts,' reads the press statement. The Board in its press release underscored the protection of expectant mothers and children as they are also the most vulnerable ones during such disasters.
