Kathmandu, September 23:

The Democratic Film-makers Forum has been established to express film artists’ solidarity with the ongoing people’s movement, which has been launched with the objective of restoring peace and democracy in the country. At a time when all democratic forces and individuals are fighting for the restoration of civil rights, it is imperative for the artists to participate in the revolution, the DFF stated in a press release issued today. “The forum has been established to fight for the freedom of expression by being active against the imposed autocracy in the country,” said Nabin Subba, a DFF member. Meanwhile, the DFF is capturing footages of peoples’ movement in the country in celluloid. Short films on topics like peace, justice, equality, freedom, and democracy will be shown in a fil festival to be organised in October. The DFF will also produce a feature film titled Democracy and Nepal.
