KATHMANDU: A massive fire broke out at the Nepal Electricity Authority's sub-station in Syuchatar, on the western outskirts of Kathmandu, on Monday. Equipment worth more than Rs 10 million were gutted in the fire, according to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti. An officials from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, told THT Online that fire brigades assisted by police already contained the fire. Power supply to most places of Kathmandu Valley was obstructed following the inferno. A black smoke billowing over the western outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley was seen from the downtown Kathmandu also. Cause behind the fire is yet to be established.
