Cabinet's maiden meet decides to provide compensation to disaster victims

KATHMANDU: The government led by CPN Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday evening held its maiden meeting and decided to provide Rs 100,000 compensation to victims of recent floods and landslides across the nation. According to newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, the government made such decision after holding the first meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Meanwhile, the Cabinet also assigned Mahara to work as the government spokesperson until appointment of the Minister for Information and Communications. Earlier, PM Dahal had assumed his office at the OPMCM this afternoon.
