KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Chief District Officer on Friday issued an order to bar the area around Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) office in Tangal of Kathmandu to any form of protest. The District Administration Office issued a press statement today informing that CDO Ram Krishna Subedi issued the order in accordance to Clause 6(3) of the Local Administration Act, 1971. The order came into effect today itself and it would apply till the next notice, according to the statement. The decision was made considering security sensitiveness of the area, according to the DAO. It has warned that those breaching the order would be booked as per the law. Last month, some youth groups, while extending their support to fasting surgeon Dr Govinda KC, had staged a demonstration in front of the CIAA office, demanding impeachment against its Chief Lokman Singh Karki.
