SALYAN: People in the northern part of Salyan district have been forced to spend sleepless nights due to wild boars causing menace at their farms. The wild boars have been causing trouble for the locals of Mulkhola, Devsthal and Ghanjari from time to time for the past three years. This time also, the swines from the nearby jungle have entered the villages and damaged food crops ahead of the harvesting season. They have already damaged crops planted on 200 ropanis (508.74 square metres) of land. 'We stay sleepless all the night to protect crops from further damages by the boars,' a local of Mulkhola-5 Mahendra Budha shared. The locals beat steel plates, dishes, whistle and make fire in the field to chase away the boars. Sometimes they also suffer physical attacks from the tusked wild animals.
