KATHMANDU: Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi is scheduled to arrive here in Kathmandu for a three-day official visit to Nepal on Tuesday. Minister Kishi will attend a special ceremony that the Government of Nepal is organising on September 1 to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal, the Embassy of Japan in Nepal said in a statement. During his stay in Kathmandu, Minister Kishi will meet the high-ranking officials of the Government of Nepal. “Japan is confident that the friendly and cooperative relations that so happily exist between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days ahead,” the Japanese mission added. Kishi was the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of Japan's House of Representatives before he was appointed the State Minister for Foreign Affairs in August. He had served as the Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs in 2013-14.
