11 houses swept away by Myagdi floods

Myagdi: As many as 11 houses were swept away by floods in the Khahare River in Beg-6 of Myagdi district on Thursday night. The houses in the Begkhola village near the Beni-Jomsom road were swept away, according to the District Police Office. Likewise, a bailey bridge and a suspension bridge over the Begkhola along the road were also swept away, police said.
Locals had rushed to safety soon after the water level rose all of a sudden in the river due to the rain last night, Police Inspector Lokendra Singh Guru said. No human casualty has been reported in the incidents. However, a local has been reported missing. Meanwhile, four other families who were at risk have been shifted to safer location. Locals and police are cooperating to shift people to safer places and look for those missing. Likewise, a team from the Nepal Red Cross Society has left for the affected site along with relief materials for the affected.
