Three killed in Parbat jeep accident

KATHMANDU: Three persons were killed and eight others were injured when a jeep met with an accident at Thulopairo in Dhairing VDC-3 of Parbat district this morning. The deceased have been identified as Ram Maya Damai (50) of Jyamrukot VDC-3 in Myagdi, Dil Kumari Budhathoki (30) of Ribhan-9 in Kaski and Hari Maya Pun (60) of the same locality, according to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti. The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5102) had fallen around 200 metres down the dirt road after it suffered the brake failure, a staffer at the Parbat District Police Office told THT Online over phone. The jeep was carrying passengers from Thotneri of Shalija VDC to Milan Chok of Dhairing VDC, police said. Of the injured, Amrita Pun (14) of Ribhan-9 in Kaski was seriously injured and has been taken to Pokhara for treatment while remaining seven are undergoing treatment at the Myagdi District Hospital, the policeman said from the DPO. The jeep driver Rim Bahadur Phagami has been taken into police custody for necessary investigation and action as per the law.
