National Trauma Centre doctor booked for fake credential

KATHMANDU: A medical doctor working at the National Trauma Centre under the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) has been booked on charge of using a fake academic certificate, on Friday. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority said it filed a case at the Supreme Court against Santosh Kumar Jha, Medical Officer at the Trauma Centre. The anti-corruption constitutional body said it had received complaints that Jha used a fake certificate of ISc to obtain the MBBS degree as well as the Nepal Medical Council licence. The Commission said Jha submitted the same certificate obtained from the Intermediate Education Council, Patna while he joined the Trauma Centre on November 25, 2015. The Commission demanded action against him as per Section 16(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002. Rupandehi surveyor held with bribe Meanwhile, the Commission nabbed a surveyor red-handed while taking a bribe from a service recipient. Surveyor Ganga Prasad Sah, deployed at the Survey Office in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi, was arrested with Rs 15,000 kickback money by a team deployed from the Commission's Butwal-based office today. The Commission said it was tipped-off that Yadav was taking the bribe at the service recipient's home at Siddhartha Gautam Colony, Sidhartha Municiaplity-3.
