DPM Nidhi in Chitwan to inspect ex-Home Minister Ghimire’s jeep accident site

CHITWAN: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi on Tuesday reached Ghoptebhir of Chitwan to inspect the site from where a jeep carrying former Minister for Home Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire, four members of his family and his security guard fell off the road and plunged into the Trishuli River on Sunday. DPM Nidhi was accompanied by Home Secretary Lok Darshan Regmi, Nepal Army Lieutenant General Baldev Raj Mahat, Nepal Police Inspector General of Police Upendra Kant Aryal, Armed Police Force Inspector General DurjA Kumar Rai and Chief of National Investigation Department Dilip Regmi among others. During the visit, the DPM instructed the authorities concerned to take all possible measures to find out the status of all the missing persons in the incident. The Scorpio SUV (Ba 9 Cha 1531) had plunged into the mighty river at around 4 pm on Sunday. It has been learned that they were returning to Kathmandu from Muktinath of Mustang via Pokhara of Kaski. The car driver Bishnu Rai is undergoing treatment at the College of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Bharatpur. So far the bodies of three including Ghimire's mother have been retrieved from the site. READ ALSO
