Govt extends Local Bodies Restructuring Commission's mandate

KATHMANDU: The government on Tuesday decided to extend the mandate of Local Bodies Restructuring Commission. A meeting of the Cabinet today made the decision as per the agreement forged by the three major parties -- Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN Maoist Centre -- on Sunday. Today's meeting decided to extend the Commission's mandate considering old division of areas (Ilakas) as basis for local restructuring, a statement issued by the PM's Secretariat said, quoting Minister Ramesh Lekhak. According to a statement issued by the PM's Secretariat, the Cabinet has decided to form a five-member commission to investigate two latest accidents in Chitwan and Dhading district. READ ALSO:
