Maldives security chief calls on Nepal President, PM

KATHMANDU: The chief of Maldives National Defense Force, Ahmed Shiyam, on Tuesday separately called on Nepal's President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal here in Kathmandu. Shiyam paid a courtesy call to President Bhandari at her office in Sheetal Niwas and discussed bilateral relationship between Nepal and Maldives, the President's Office said in a statement. The top security official of the Maldives was accompanied by his senior colleagues in the meeting. Likewise, Prime Minister Dahal noted that the Nepal Army and MNDF enjoyed good relationship, a statement issued by the PM's secretariat said. On the occasion, Shiyam expressed happiness over successful integration of the Maoist combatants, saying Nepal's peace process was exemplary, according to the statement.
