Lalitpur, October 18 Defending champion Arhant Keshar Singh and Amrit Thapa Magar recorded wins in the fourth Civil Bank Open Squash Tournament here at the Squash Academy courts in Lalitpur today. In the men’s singles event, Singh edged past Jitendra Bait in straight sets of 11-2, 11-3, 11-0, while runner-up of the last edition Magar saw off Amit Begami 11-2, 11-2, 11-2. Prabin Bir Singh Kansakar outplayed Rabin Lama 11-4, 11-1, 11-1, while Gyanu Chaudhary beat Bijay Magar 11-6, 11-7, 11-3 and Hira Bahadur Thapa saw off Rabin Devkota 11-4, 11-5, 11-3. In the women’s singles, defending champion Bhawana Sunuwar defeated Laxmi Thapa 11-5, 11-4, 11-3, Shree Maya Lama beat Devika Shrish 11-6, 11-5, 11-4 and Sapana Blon saw off Swikriti Sunuwar 11-0, 11-4, 11-5. Likewise, Bipana Blon thrashed Nanchhi Sunuwar 11-1, 11-1, 11-1, Dolma Lama beat Muna Rawat 9-11, 11-1, 11-5, 11-6 and Sakshi Sunuwar defeated Muskan Rawat 11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 11-9. In the above-50 veteran section, defending champion Sudeep Bahadur Singh outplayed Subash Rai 11-8, 11-5, 11-3, Kiran Shrestha defeated Kulesh Thapa 11-7, 11-5, 11-13, 11-8 and Binod Dhwoj Khadka beat Ratna Maharjan 11-1, 11-13, 11-5, 11-5. Meanwhile, Nepal Squash Rackets Association’s former President Amar Keshar Singh prevailed over current President Kishor Maharjan, who retired hurt at 1-1.
