KATHMANDU: Four persons allegedly involved in stealing around-400-year-old idols from a Buddha temple at Naudebahal of Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-12 have been sent to judicial custody on Tuesday. They have been identified as Ganesh Lal Shreshtha (36) of Bhimkhori in Kavrepalanchok, Man Bahadur Magar (53) Gaunsara in Ramechhap, Basudev KC (46) aka Min Bahadur Khatri of Lankuridanda-4 in Dolakha and Tirtha Dangol (46) of Khokana-4 in Lalitpur. Police said they had stolen the sculptures from the Temple on July 25. READ ALSO:

Shrestha and KC were residing in Banasepa of Kavre, Magar in Imadol and Dangol at Gabahal of Patan. The group had not only stolen the idols, but also sold the gold jewelries separately. They were presented before the Lalitpur District Court for a hearing yesterday.
