KATHMANDU: Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman and Federal Alliance Coordinator Upendra Yadav has warned that the FA constituents would withdraw the support extended to the government after the Chhath festival if the government failed to table a Constitution amendment proposal by then. Speaking with journalists in Kathmandu today, Yadav said the government must table the proposal by then as the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had already promised to do so while addressing the House recently. The Madhesi leader was of the view that the amendment was a must to establish rights of Madhesis, indigenous nationalities, Tharus, woman and minority communities and no further delay should be made against it. 'You cannot just talk and do nothing,' he said, addressing the Prime Minister, 'Don't late the state miss any opportunity.' He demanded that the government immediately implement the three-point agreement signed between the coalition of CPN Maoist Centre and Nepali Congress and the Federal Alliance hours before Dahal was elected the Prime Minister on August 3. Yadav reiterated that Madhesi parties were unaware of the motive behind the impeachment motion tabled against the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Chief Lok Man Singh Karki; and therefore, they had not positioned themselves on either side. He, however, warned that the government must not delay the Constitution amendment process in the face of Karki impeachment issue.
