LBRTSC proposes six local units for Myagdi

Myagdi, November 5 An all party meeting called by the Local Body Restructuring Technical Support Committee yesterday proposed six local units for Myagdi district. The meeting proposed one municipality and five village units for the district. Planning Officer at the District Development Committee Bishnu Prasad Poudel said the proposal was prepared after incorporating suggestions from lawmakers and political parties. He added that the proposal would be sent to the Reconstruction Commission for approval. As per the proposed set up, existing Patlekhet and Bhakimli will be merged into Beni Municipality. Similarly, Dowa, Bhurung, Tatopani, Narchyang, Shikh, Ghar, Histan and Ramche VDCs will be merged and renamed Annapurna Village Unit with its centre in Pokharebagar, whereas Takam, Gurja, Muna, Mudi, Marang and Malkabang VDCs will be merged as Dhaulagiri Village Unit with its centre either in Takam or Muna. The meeting also decided to merge Begkhola, Bhagbati, Piple, Dagnam, Chimkhola, Kuinemangal, Pakhapani and Jhilai with Raghuganga Village Unit with its centre either in Mauwaphat or Pakhapani. Baranja, Arman, Kuhun and Babiyachaur VDCs will be merged and developed as Mangala Village Unit. Darbang, Rum, Okharkot, Devisthan, Bim and Nikot VDCs will be merged as Malika Village Unit with its centre in Darbang Bazaar.
