KATHMANDU: Minister for Defence Bal Krishna Khand said Nepal would not allow its land to be used in activities against its neighbours, India and China. Speaking with journalists in Kathmandu today, Khand said no anti-India or anti-China activity should take place in the nation as ties with both of the nations are very important for Nepal. He said the government, therefore, was moving ahead with an acute alertness so as to prevent any untoward incident. Meanwhile, the Defence Minister said the government was positive towards Nepal Army's proposal that the national military force should be present in all seven provinces. Khand also said the government was for increasing the number of Nepal Army personnel in the United Nations peacekeeping missions. Speaking in a different context, the Minister said the recent state visit of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee to Nepal was a big achievement as it elevated the friendly ties between two nations to a new height. The security arrangements during the VVIP visit also proved that Nepal was capable of hosting any kind of such visits in its land, he claimed.
