Deuba insists on amending Constitution

BHIMDATTANAGAR: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today said that the parties have agreed on many subjects for the amendment of Constitution. Speaking at a press meet organised by the Nepal Press Union, Kanchanpur, in Bhimdattanagar, NC President Deuba insisted on amending the constitution and holding timely local elections. 'The local level elections will be held within mid-April next year,' Deuba claimed. 'The issue of giving executive post to naturalised citizen is a rumour spread by the media,' he added. Deuba hinted that there can be 10 provincial states under the federal structure adding that Kailali and Kanchanpur would be included in a single province in the far-western region. He also spoke of completing the remaining workloads from the NC general convention including the nomination of the party officials and giving final shape to the department.
