Medicine crunch hits Panchthar district

PHIDIM: With the onset of winter season, health facilities in Panchthar district have been facing shortage of medicines. It has been learned that health centres in Sarangdanda, Prangbung, Mauwa, and Rabi Chok of Panchthar have been facing shortage of medicines of common diseases like fever, diarrhoea and common cold among others. Regional Medical Store in Biratnagar and Central Medical Store in Pathalaiya from where most of the medicines were transported have also been running out of medicines. Hundreds of patients have been affected due to the shortage of medicines. There are one hospital, two primary health centres, 10 health posts, 25 sub-health posts and more than 20 community health posts in the district.
