Kathmandu, November 24 Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a meeting with CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli today over the constitution amendment bill but the latter rejected PM’s proposal to back the bill. The government is preparing to table the amendment bill soon. UML Standing Committee recently decided not to back the bill. According to UML Vice-chair Bhim Rawal, who was present in the meeting, the PM sought support of the UML but Oli told the PM that the constitution amendment bill would not be in the interest of the country and even the United Democratic Madhesi Front would not accept it. “We told the PM that we cannot back the bill,” Rawal told THT after the meeting. Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Govinda Acharya said the PM also sought UML’s views on the supplementary budget, to which the UML leaders told the PM that they would come up with their suggestions after discussing the issue in their party.
