7 killed, 16 injured in Nawalparasi jeep accident

NAWALPARASI: At least seven persons died and 16 others were injured when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Bulingtar in Nawalparasi district on Saturday. According to the District Police Office, Nawalparasi, the deceased have been identified as Kishan Banche Magar (42), Khim Bahadur Banche Magar (50), Rem Bahadur Banche Magar (59), Somanti Banche Magar (28), Jaya Bahadur Banche Magar (40), Lok Bahadur Banche Magar (42) and Deepak Phal Magar (22) of Dandajheri VDC-8. Jeep driver Prakash Nepali, Buddhi Bahadur Sunari Magar, Kheman Singh Ale Magar, Bhim Bahadur Sunari, Deu Bahadur Phal, Sher Bahadur Phal, Nun Prasad Banche, Sandeep Banche, Thaman Singh Banche, Chan Maya Banche, Laxman Banche, Sarga Bahadur Banche, Gopal Sunari, Yam Kumari Phal, Bom Bahadur Sunari and Durga Bahadur Phal were injured in the accident. Among the injured, Prakash, Buddhi Bahadur and Kheman are in critical condition and are being treated at the Purano Medical College. Police said that others are undergoing treatment at the Narayani Community Hospital. Police said that the incident occurred when the jeep (Ga 1 Ja 3632) heading towards Charchare of Dandajheri from Balungtar skidded off the road and fell some 300 metres down at around 9:45 pm yesterday.
