PM urges UDMF leaders to support amendment bill

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday urged the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) leaders to support the Constitution amendment bill. The government on Tuesday evening had registered the amendment bill, proposing to change boundaries of Province 4 and 5. The bill was registered in a bid to address the demands of agitating UDMF and Federal Alliance (FA). The meeting was held at the official residence of Prime Minister at Baluwatar. During the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal had told UMDF leaders that it was not possible to address all the demands raised by them at the current state of affairs. Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN Maoist Centre Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi from the ruling parties and Mahantha Thakur and Upendra Yadav among other leaders from the UDMF were present in the meeting.
