KATHMANDU: A three-member Nepali Sherpa team on Wednesday left for China on a month-long tour in a bid to promote Nepali mountaineering in the northern neighbour. Mingma Gyalje Sherpa, Nima Tenji Sherpa and Phurba Tenji Sherpa left Kathmandu yesterday and are expected to return home by the New Year 2017 after giving lectures on Nepal tourism, mountaineering in particular, in various cities of China. They said aspects of Nepali mountaineering system including guiding system and peculiarities of Nepali mountaineering activities would be covered in their discussions. The Sherpa team is also accompanied by MA Liyamu who recently made the Everest summit on May 20, 2016. Mingma and Phurba were also the Goodwill Ambassadors of Nepal Tourism Year 2011.
